Jack Allmon

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Jack's spirit returned home to God on January 28, 2008. Jack Allmon Jr. was a member of the varsity golf team and graduated from Rapid City Central in 1972. He was an accomplished golfer, avid skier, determined fisherman, lover of music and all around instigator of fun. The Black Hills always held a special place in his heart. Jack obtained a Business Administration and Political Science degree from the University of South Dakota. He was inspired by his beloved mother Glessie and his father, Jack Allmon Sr., who was a successful businessman and also served as the Mayor of Rapid City, Director of State Highway Department, Director of State Tourism Department, and State Economic Director. Jack's professional career was in banking. He started his career as a bank branch manager in Rapid City, and, after moving to Minnesota, he was employed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Resolution Trust Corporation and Harland Financial Solutions, Inc. Jack was a vibrant and active person who treasured all of his old and new friendships. He brought the Allmon sense of humor, gentle kindness and enthusiasm for the joys of everyday life into the lives of his friends and family. Jack was especially delighted to share as much time as possible with his grandson Alex during the past eighteen months. Jack's hearty laughter will be dearly missed. Jack is survived by his wife Marilyn of Burnsville, Minnesota, her son Corey Claussen (Darcy) and grandson Alexander, Benson, Minnesota and daughter Gina Claussen, West Palm Beach, Florida. The family requests memorials be sent to: Allmon Family, C/O Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, Minnesota 55124. A Rapid City memorial service will be announced.
